Founder Stephanie Boye creates designs that make pregnant women feel beautiful in the most exciting time in their lives. Boye started Chiarakruza seven years ago when she was pregnant with her daughter Chiara. “I swore off wearing anything that was a maternity item so I had to get really creative finding normal clothes that worked for me,” she said. Chiarakruza revolutionized and redefined maternity wear. Their clothes focus on comfort, but maintain a sexy edge. “After my daughter was born, I wanted to make clothes that made women feel sexy and fashionable at the most magnificent time in their lives,” said Boye.
After selling clothes in boutique and department stores, Chiarakruza went online in 2004 and currently receives orders from pregnant women all over the world. Inundated with numerous requests from customers, the line decided to finally open a retail store of its own in the art district of North Hollywood, CA in 2007.
Today Chiarakruza has become a fashion icon for Hollywood’s hippest mommies-to-be such as Halle Berry, Jennifer Garner, Angelina Jolie, Katie Holmes, Marica Cross, Nancy O’Dell, Poppy Montgomery and Courtney-Thorne Smith.
